Treat Mom Just in Time for Her Special Day During This Opera-Infused Concert

Treat Mom to something special this weekend! On May 11th, the Czech Center Museum Houston will present a Mother’s Day opera concert with performance artist Elizabeth Gautsche and collaborative pianist Andrew Schneider. The performance will include selections from the opera Rusalka, a lyric fairy-tale composed by Antonín Dvořák. Make plans now to witness this event on Saturday evening!

Elizabeth Gautsche made her professional debut in 2017 with Opera in the Heights as Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflüte. Previous roles include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the Blooming Voce Summer Opera Workshop and Armida in Handel’s Rinaldo with the Echo Ensemble.

Andrew Schneider is a pianist and vocal coach and holds a B.Mus., summa cum laude, in music composition from Rice University, and in 2009, was a finalist in the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composers Competition. Regarding Opera, Andrew has served as a music director for a production of Sweeney Todd and has coached Ariadne auf Naxos for the Kingwood Summer Opera.
