Typhoon Texas, the west Houston family waterpark that provided thrills and excitement for countless families this summer, is getting a complete makeover for the holidays. Like a frigid Blue Norther, the sprawling, 25-acre park is being draped in a blanket of holiday fun as the waterpark is incredibly transformed into WinterFest, “Making Magical Memories.”
WinterFest will showcase a wonderland of fun for all ages, from a Texas-sized outdoor ice rink to a larger-than-life 4D holiday light show. Through the magic of 4D, the recurring, seven-minute show will be magically projected over the Typhoon Texas wave pool as it draws families into a holiday scene unlike anything they’ve ever experienced. WinterFest will also be decked out in thousands of twinkling lights synchronized to popular holiday songs.
Santa Claus will be in Santa’s Workshop, where he’ll take photos with the kids and listen to every wish on their holiday lists. While in the workshop, kids can enjoy arts and crafts with his elves and even drop their wish list in Santa’s magic mailbox.
WinterFest also will feature live music entertainment, train rides, petting zoo with working farm animals, hay rides, pony rides and Reindeer Run, a Texas-sized inflatable slide rising three stories tall – attractions that are certain to make it a holiday family tradition for years to come. Plus, a collection of real-life storybook characters will walk WinterFest for photos and interaction with kids.
