Make the Most of Your Saturday with a Thrilling Exhibit Revolving Around Illustration

As leaders of North America's public libraries, Houston Public Library is committed to achieving racial and social equity by contributing to a more just society in which all community members can realize their full potential. Our libraries can help through an international, systemic and transformative library-community partnership. Currently on display, we are housing “The Art of Children's Book Illustration: 25 Years of Piñata Books” exhibit.

For 25 years, Piñata Books has changed the children’s book publishing industry by providing readers with bilingual stories and colorful images that feature diverse characters and reflect the U.S. Hispanic experience. Piñata Books is an imprint of Arte Público Press, the oldest and largest publisher of U.S. Hispanic literature in the United States.

The Art of Children's Book Illustration: 25 Years of Piñata Books invites the public to view original illustrations from this very collection by Arte Público. The exhibit will provide readers with a visual entryway into many of the stories that continue to educate and delight readers of all backgrounds.
Families of all ages are welcome to attend. This exhibit is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!

Even though Riverwalk Apartments in Houston, Texas provides you with all of the comfort, convenience, and entertainment you could possibly desire, we encourage our residents to venture outside of our apartment community and explore all that the city has to offer!
