Dinner, Tours, and Presentations: You Will Find It All During This Two Day Event

Migration Celebration, held annually during the month of April, is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service event from the Texas Mid-coast National Wildlife Complex, and is underwritten by the Friends of the Brazoria Wildlife Refuges. It began as a birding festival but has grown over time into a family nature festival; with events and presentations designed for more introductory level participation.

Activities are centered around a two-day, activity packed event on the San Bernard National Wildlife Refuge, but formally begin with a featured speaker and fundraising dinner at Freeport RiverPlace, located at the Freeport Municipal Park in Freeport, Texas. Several trail and van tours offer excellent birding opportunities for all experience levels and ages.

Apart from the fundraising kickoff dinner and the food and bake sales on event days, all other Migration Celebration events, tours, presentations, and activities are free to the public. This is made possible by the generous donations of time and money by our sponsors, partner organizations, and volunteers.

The Friends of Brazoria Wildlife Refuges is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the Brazoria, San Bernard, and Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuges. We raise funding through donations, grants, and gifts to help fund wildlife refuge projects, educational programs, and other activities. We can’t wait to see you at Migration Celebration!

At Riverwalk Apartments in Houston, Texas, we find it important to attend events that stray from your typical routine. With that being said, we hope that this event will add something unique to your day. Be sure to check it out on Saturday!
