If You Are Looking to Participate in More Philanthropy This Year, Check Out This Event

The John Cooper School chapter of the National Art Honor Society and Cooper Art Society has taken the lead to help fight hunger in our community through its annual Empty Bowls event and has raised over $90,000 for hunger relief over the past 13 years. On Saturday, February 23rd, the community will be able to come together for the 14th Annual Empty Bowls Project!

All members of the community are invited to attend and enjoy a bowl of soup, bid in a silent auction, view student art and take home a handmade bowl as a reminder that there are empty bowls in the community and you just helped fill one. Silent auction bidding ends at 1:30 p.m.; however, winners do not have to be present.

John Cooper School's mission is to provide a challenging education in a caring environment to a diverse group of select students, enabling them to become critical and creative thinkers, effective communicators, responsible citizens and leaders, and lifetime learners.

Tickets are $10 each and all proceeds will benefit The Interfaith Food Pantry. Walk-ups are welcome but pre-registration is preferred in order to plan for the quantity of soup to be served. You can register online at www.johncooper.org/emptybowls. We hope that you set some time aside this weekend to join us for a great cause!

At Riverwalk Apartments in Houston, Texas, we pride ourselves on informing our residents about all the upcoming events our beautiful community has to offer. Don’t hesitate to join this event on Saturday!
