Where can you catch a glimpse of work by some of the hottest artists in Houston? At the Sawyer Yards Spring Biannual Art Show and Sale! This highly anticipated event will position you face-to-face with Houston’s creative minds and their outstanding products. Make a night of it this Saturday, April 27th!
During the Biannual Art Show and Sale, the 350 artists of Sawyer Yards will open their studios to the public for the unique opportunity to tour private artist studios, connect with the artists and purchase original artwork. Organized and hosted by one of the nation’s largest working creative communities, the Sawyer Yards Spring Biannual Art Show and Sale gives Houstonians the chance to shop directly from artists who work in nearly every art medium including painting, sculpture, ceramic, glass, mosaic, photography, mixed media and jewelry.
Four of Sawyer Yards studio buildings, including Silver Street Studios, The Silos at Sawyer Yards, Winter Street Studios, and Sabine Street Studios, will be open to the public for the Spring Biannual. Participating artists will be donating a portion of sales to the Glassell School of Art for a student scholarship to support the continued development of a Houston artist.
Sawyer Yards is a creative community thriving in the heart of Houston’s historic First Ward, surrounded by an active rail yard where 20+ trains change the landscape each day. Against this backdrop, industrial warehouses transformed into built-for-purpose studios are now home to one of the largest working artist communities in the country. This exceptional art community is complemented by creative businesses, public galleries, unique dining and entertainment venues—all brought to life through an active schedule of special events.
